Anne and I went up to Stoncol mountain with a couple of friends on a blisteringly hot Sunday. There we found half of Daejeon soaking in the water of a cool mountain stream.
As always in Korea, the part closest to the car park was the busiest. A fifteen minute walk upstream and there were hardly any people at all. |
A mother watches over her children, sheltering herself with the biggest umbrella I've ever seen anyone use on a day without rain. Sun-darkened skin is not fashionable here. |
A little further upstream and it's a little quieter. A tent marks the territory of a family group as well as providing protection from the sun. |
A lot of young people were just chilling out in the water, doing nothing in particular. |
