The Dog Show

Four Legged Friends

I have a Korean friend named Hyun Dong who works for an animal feed company. He informed me that there was a dog show going on in Daejeon, and invited me to go along with him. This seemed like a good idea, so I grabbed my camera and went.

The venue was Kotra, a large exhibition centre a couple of kilometers down the river from my apartment. It didn't take us long to get there, and as would be expected, there were a lot of dogs there.

Now I've never been to a dog show, but all the dogs there seemed completely bored. The floor was filled with grooming tables and there dog hair-dressers wandering from table to table to groom the dogs to perfection. They also seemed completely docile and bored.

After wandering around for an hour or so, that was enough dog show for me. It was pleasant to see some big dogs (Koreans seem to prefer small yappy ones) but I never got that excited about dogs anyway. Especially ones that are worth lots of money and sport haircuts more expensive than most people have.

I said goodbye to Hyun Dong and walked along the river home. I enjoyed the walk home more than I had the show.
