The Kindergarten had been practicing for a while, and the teachers had been informed that they would be singing 'Yellow Submarine', but other than that, I was pretty much in the dark as to the scope of the plans that had been formulated by the management of ECC. The venue was part of Chung-Nam university, and there was just enough light to snap this shot of the front of the building.
The night was started by two students dressed up to the nines. They had a quick unscheduled debate before making a very short speech.
Then the night got underway. There were dance numbers, short plays, songs, and all the other things that schools like to make little kids do to show off to their parents.
We had the traditional and the silly.
Drama, both serious and lighthearted.
And even some ballroom stuff.
Some of the teachers got involved.
Indeed, the last last number was for all the teachers not afflicted with cowardice.
Before the night was brought to a close by another young pair.
Then the whole kindergarten sung a few songs togther.
Before being collected by proud parents, who also gifted the kids with flowers.
Following which, Mr Choi took the staff out for a slap-up meal.
Even though I don't teach kindergarten, it was wonderful to see the kids do things to make their parents proud, and a lot of what was showcased was of an extremely high standard. It was one of those 'job satisfaction' moments.
